Christmas spirit Thai style in Phuket
Phuket is a tourism Mekka for Scandinavian, German and Russian tourists with white beaches, large resorts, hawkers and an endless number of restaurants and bars. A lot of Phuket is over-developed, but it is possible to escape the crowds and experience perfect moments on the top of a hill or watch the sun set over the ocean. We spent a week at the famous Kata Beach to celebrate Christmas with Nick's family who had flown in from Denmark to spend the week with us.

We were quite lucky with the weather. Large weather-systems rotated around Phuket island during our stay, but only very little rain fell on us

A visit to the Kata Fresh market where Nick is making spicy deals

During our 1,5 months in Thailand, we fell completely in love with the Thai cuisine. Much of Thai food is based on delicious Thai curries which are difficult and expensive to get hold of in Europe. We bought several kilos of curry and Kaffir leaves and tucked it into Nick's family's luggage to be sent home to Denmark while we continue our travels south.
